“The Horses of Equamore” Opening Reception – Inspired Pet Portraits and Animal Paintings by Dana Feagin

Thanks to everyone who celebrated National Horse Protection Day with me and staff from Equamore Horse Sanctuary at the opening reception for “The Horses of Equamore” at the Ashland Art Center. In the end, I completed seven paintings of Equamore horses, of which three were being touched up on Friday morning, but they were all framed and ready to show by Friday night. We had a great crowd, which included three Equamore Board members, and one volunteer, who were on hand to talk about the work Equamore does every day to help horses in need here in Jackson County. I met so many wonderful horse lovers, and had a great discussion with another artist about creating a large horse mural in honor of the wild horses being rounded up by the BLM – so, who knows where that may lead. The show remains up through the end of March, and 10% of sales will be donated to Equamore Foundation to assist with horse care and rescue. Two of the paintings have sold, but are available for viewing for the duration of the show.  Available Equamore horse paintings and prices are now included  in the “Paintings – other animals” section of my website. https://danafeagin.com/galleries/other-animal-paintings/  Below are a few photos of the evening.
