Odd Man Inn 6th Annual Online Art Show & Sale

This week, until April 29th, you can purchase $5 chances here to win this original oil painting of Melvin, the tripod and earless pig from Odd Man Inn Animal Refuge in Janesville, TN. The painting is framed and ready to hang – canvas size is 24 x 18. Making this art package even better, Kat von Cupcake wrote a poem to accompany my painting. You can also view the many other wonderful art packages and purchase chances to win any of those items, all to benefit the sanctuary. Melvin lost his ears and his leg due to an altercation with a dog before he was taken in and rehabilitated by Odd Man Inn. His recovery is truly amazing and a testament to this strong boy’s will to survive.

Stop in and see me, and the other amazing artist spaces, during the Ashland Open Studio Tour from 11AM-5PM this Saturday and Sunday. I will be painting, chatting with visitors, and showing off my mini studio remodel which reclaimed a storage space to make room for my expanded bunny family. Yes, I am a frequent foster failure and now share my space with five lagomorphs! Original artwork, prints, cards and Kat’s and my book “Love Rhymes with Everything; animal ruminations through poetry and paintings” will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefitting Sanctuary One. Maps of all artist locations are available online and at all Ashland galleries. This event is free to the public and a fun way to spend the day – even if you just visit a couple studios.If you complete an attendance card and leave it at the last studio you visit, you will be entered to win a raffle for 2 free tickets to A Taste of Ashland in the spring or $100 off local art!

I am back on the Ashland Open Studio Tour again this year! Come by and visit me in my home studio, the weekend of October 13th and 14th, from 11-5PM. It’s also my bunnies’ home, so if you are allergic to rabbits, be forewarned. However, some of my work will be outside on my patio. All sales proceeds from my open studio will be donated to Sanctuary One, a care farm in the Applegate Valley. Maps are now available at local galleries and will also be available online before the event. 

Art & Soul Gallery Featured Artist for October – First Friday Event, October 6th, 5-8PM

Join Kat von Cupcake and me during Ashland’s First Friday Art Walk for a celebration of the animals at the “Love Rhymes with Everything” Art Show on October 6th from 5 – 8PM!

 

This show features a mix of original paintings & framed prints paired with poetry by Kat von Cupcake, written from the animal’s perspective – as well as our book with the same title, published by local boutique publisher, Ashland Creek Press.

 

The opening reception includes select poetry readings and discussion about the animals behind the artwork at 6:30PM. Kat and I will also be available to personalize books – which would make the perfect holiday gift for the animal lover in your family!  And, of course, there will be wine and snacks too.

 

100% of sales proceeds from this show will be donated to Sanctuary One, a non-profit care farm & animal sanctuary in Jacksonville, OR. Sanctuary One t-shirts and sweatshirts will also be available for purchase during First Friday.

 

This show runs through October 29th if you are unable to make it in for First Friday.

RoxyAnn Winery July Artist Reception and Sanctuary One Benefit Night with Blue Lightning Band – Friday, July 14th 4-8PM

Join us to celebrate the animals and help raise some money for Sanctuary One, an animal rescue and care farm in the Applegate Valley! Food trucks will be on site, along with animal art, music for dancing and RoxyAnn wine. The artist reception (4-7PM) is free, with 100% of art sales proceeds benefitting Sanctuary One. The band starts at 6PM, with a $10 cover charge, where half is donated to Sanctuary One! Advance reservations for tables of 8 are available for $70 by calling the tasting room at 541-776-2315. 

Love Rhymes with Everything Book Event for Muttville Senior Dog Rescue

We have photos from our book event last week, thanks to Midge Raymond who came prepared to take lots of photos, while also helping us manage the book sales process! We had a full house at Umpqua Bank Potrero Hill, and sold 59 books, with all proceeds (over $650) benefitting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. A big thanks to Kimberly Floren for arranging the event and creating swag bags for all our attendees! Muttville even brought several dogs who are looking for new families. Dana’s Open Studio and Benefit – October 8 & 9, 2016

I am once again participating in the Ashland Gallery Association Open Studio Tour. This year, all sales during that weekend will benefit Sanctuary One, a non-profit animal sanctuary in the Applegate Valley. In addition to my animal paintings, prints, and cards, Kat von Cupcake’s animal art cookies, and raffle tickets for a stay in Sayulita, Mexico, will also be available for purchase to benefit the Sanctuary.
