First Friday Art Walk, Ashland Art Center, June 1, 2012

A few photos taken by my niece, Myla, during the First Friday Art Walk in Ashland. The exhibit of my Sanctuary One paintings are up until the end of the month, so if you are local and haven’t seen them, please pop by!

Featured Artist & Exhibit of Sanctuary One Animal Paintings – Ashland Art Center, June 1 – 30, 2012

I’m the featured artist at the Ashland Art Center for the month of June, which includes a special exhibit of my Sanctuary One animal paintings. The painting I’ve posted here is of Sparky – he and his son, Junior, are available for adoption at the Sanctuary, and he was our “mascot ” for the 3rd Annual Bachelor Auction and Cinco de Mayo Celebration benefiting Sanctuary One this year! If you are in Ashland for First Friday (June 1), drop in, see the exhibit, and visit me in  Studio 3 – I’m working on a new Sanctuary One painting of a cow, with polka dots in the background – I can’t seem to get away from those 🙂  As always, there will be food, wine and live music – The Ashland Art Center was recently voted the best place to go for First Friday!

Most Recent Commissons – Annie and Yogi

These two images are my most recent commission – portraits of Annie and Yogi; we think they are a Lhasa Apso/Basset Hound mix, from the same parents , even though they were adopted from the shelter at different times. They are so sweet together and it’s so wonderful that they are now part of the same family!

Skylark Exhibit, April 26, 2012 – July 26, 2012

My most recent show through the Ashland Art Center A2B program was moved to Skylark due to the Starbucks remodel. Sixteen of my animal paintings are now hanging in the dining area for residents to enjoy every day!

New Prints At Sanctuary One, Jacksonville, OR

I visited Sanctuary One again on Thursday to change out my original paintings for framed prints. The originals will soon be on show at the Starbucks in downtown Ashland for 3 months…there has been a bit of a delay on hanging the originals due to their remodel, but they should be up by sometime next week! Here is a photo of the newly framed prints. These will soon also be listed in my Etsy store; however, if you purchase them through the sanctuary directly, you can write them a tax-deductible check for 20% of the purchase price and another check for 80% to me – so they get a 20% donation vs the 10% I usually provide them – a win-win all the way around!

Blog Post from Ashland Creek Press……

Very fun feature in the Ashland Creek Press blog.  This is my painting of Theo, their General Manager. He looks a bit hardened from all his years in the industry 🙂 I’ve been having fun stalking him as he does have his own Facebook page. I changed my personal avatar to this painting of Theo – which I titled “You Looking at Me?”

Some of my more subdued paintings are in the hospital outpatient lobby until the end of May. Cards and magnets with images of my animal art are available for purchase year-round at the hospital.

Newest Sanctuary One Pig Painting – Lulu

I just finished this painting of Lulu on Friday. Of course, her eyes aren’t quite this big, but I thought it makes her look just a tad bit cuter, so I just did it – after a long and hesitant struggle with myself…and painting them small again and then changing them back….just a bit of artistic license that I rarely let myself get away with:)

My painting “Wide-Eyed Red” that was painted for a Mutt Lynch/Dog Art Today wine label competition two years ago, is traveling to Kansas for The 26th annual Art Show at the Dog Show! It’s his first trip outside the Rogue Valley, so it’s very exciting!
