Animals Take Over Pangea, October 25 – December 6, 2011!
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized/by Dana FeaginEleven of my newer paintings are featured at Pangea (272 East Main Street, Ashland) until early December. Stop in and take a peek – “Pearl on Lavender”, the Gamblin Award for Excellence winner at the Irving Art Association National Fine Art Competition last month, is there, as is my newest painting – “Got Mice?” – but you have to look closely as this one is perched high on a shelf overlooking the restaurant!
Wrigley, a Rescue Horse
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized/by Dana FeaginThis is a painting of Wrigley. He was rescued from a truck carrying young horses born to Premarin mares to their death. He now lives in Ashland, and was trained as a riding horse by an artist friend’s daughter for her senior project at Ashland High School. He is so beautiful, it’s hard to believe he was going to be euthanized. Many other young horses on the same truck were not so fortunate.
A Surprise Gift….
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized/by Dana FeaginThis painting was a commission and a surprise holiday gift. I am shipping it off tomorrow to it’s new home, where it will be well hidden and hopefully not discovered for a few more months…..so fun! Oh, and I did get permission to post this one – no one who recognizes this cat is allowed to post comments or the surprise might be spoiled 🙂
Dots & Daisy!
/0 Comments/in Uncategorized/by Dana FeaginThis painting was finished on First Friday at the Ashland Art Center this month. The painting of the dog was done well before, but the polka dots giving perspective to the piece took a lot longer than I anticipated. The dog was painted from a cute hound dog photo I found on a copyright-free website, and as I was painstakingly painting the polka dots a friend said the dog looked like hers – Daisy – so, I named it Dots and Daisy! A photographer from the Chamber of Commerce photographed me painting that night and said it might show up on their website – I’ll have to take a look……
